I always have this principle where people's actions are bad, and not the people themselves. Thus, to me all people are good regardless of their age, race and any form of background. What matters in the past can be forgotten if they wish to repent. Because humans do make mistakes.
But the problem with us is that we assume that the physical being is 'bad' and there is no room for correction or whatsoever. When a person made a silly mistake, it took up his whole life trying to clear up his name. Even so, he may not be able to gain his trust back from people. It's because he's been sinful and there is no way of returning from who he is.That's how human beings are. We even tend to mock the dead.
I don't find it funny when people make jokes about Jacko after his death (and we shouldn't call him Jacko anyway). And I don't like it how media is trying to get attention by saying that he died because of this and that when the result has not shown yet. It's part of the freedom of speech that I don't like at all, in which case it touches human's rights.
When someone's dead you shouldn't be talking bad at them, well at least for the time being. Imagine you yourself being in that state, when people said, "hey this is the reporter who wrote the shit load of crap". But it doesn't matter to some, it is how the world works. If you don't report something, you'll get fired.
I really like how Spiderman portrays the reporters. Have some ethics guys, I am not saying that you guys are bad. It's your action that is wrong, and we should find ways to prevent this from happening.
It must have been hard for the Spidey production team to figure out just how to cram all the plots involving 3 super villains into a single movie. Most of the critics said that the result was disastrous, as the plot got mixed and mashed up that it turned out to be sidetracking the original comic plot (referred to the previous post). Yeah, critics who were fans of comics were mad at the outcome, however felt that the movie still maintained its kick-ass superhero style. So far it has surpassed its predecessor in the opening day record in some countries (according to wikipedia, I'm not sure whether it's reliable or not), so I guess in some ways some people just don't mind at all.
The story involved three unique super villain - the New Goblin a.k.a Harry Osborn, the Sandman a.k.a Flint Marko and Venom a.k.a Eddie Brock. Peter's encounter with the New Goblin was brief but did give an effect to the story. Meanwhile, the Sandman had a story of its own. Venom's super power came right from the sky. The way these three characters introduced was rather abrupt, as to put some room to other interesting plots
The story got darker as it went deep into Peter's dark character and the obsession to use the unknown power of Venom. They emphasized a lot on this part. Thus, the story became gloomy because almost everything that had been thrown to the viewers were about bad things. It seemed that nothing was going to be resolved.
However, they managed to tie up the story beautifully in a sense that all the problems were finally solved in a relevant manner. But as usual -they were too abrupt and even the ending was almost like hanging. But the action sequence was good and long.
I do agree to the critics that Peter's love life and all was just made up to move the plot a little and most of the time did not follow the original. MJ was presented as being too good to give in to Gwen Stacy -not as how comic fans may have wanted. The same went to Gwen for feeling guilty for what she had. But it was all to tie up the story. And in a sense, I like it.
All in all I think the story is still very much enjoyable though it may not have the same storyline as in the comic. But hey, Spiderman tale has a lot of alternate versions so don't complain about it. It's just like having tales being traditionally said in oral form without proper citation from experts.
Kudos to everyone working on 3.
So much for watching Spiderman 3.
I went to the TGV cinema in KLCC around 8 am to buy the ticket. As early as 9 am, people had started queuing up
like a train. Maybe I felt unfamiliar because I had never bought a ticket for a premiere before. Funny thing was when I came across this two foreigners (probably from latin countries) asking when the cinema was going to open. They were talking and chatting loudly until I replied to them that it was going to open at 10. Both of them suddenly went silent.Being the odd one reading a mag while waiting, I was so excited as I was among the earliest here. I was hoping that I could watch the first show -so as my family. As the cinema opened, everyone rushed to get the tickets. I could just feel the adrenaline and the excitement.
But it wasn't for long. All of a sudden, a staff made an announcement that the ticket for that day was sold out. It caused outcry among the long-waited spidey fans. The excuse -somebody had bought the tickets as early as 7.30. It was plain unreasonable. One of the viewer shouted back to the staff saying that they should consider those who came before 10. Poor him the staff rudely responded that we were impatient that they had to let those people buy the tickets first. It wasn't our fault anyway.
I believe that the staff should be fair to everyone as to wait for the cinema to open at 10 am. In my opinion, they were partly to be blamed as they were not being fair to the movie-goers. It wasn't just any show -it was the premiere, and we know how many people will be rushing to watch premieres.
And the fans should also be patient as not to force the staff to let them in before the cinema was open. To me, it would be selfish as everyone who waited till ten had expected that they were going to get their tickets early.
But maybe at one point it may have been that the staff was lying about the whole ticket thing.
Whatever it was that happened, I was happy that I managed to watch the 1st May show -even though I had to wait until 11.30 pm. Thanks to the TGV cinema.
After years of waiting finally we can see Mr. Spidey back in action. The teasers and trailers did give a deep feeling on what is going to come out in the final sequel to the trilogy. And it did make me lose patience -as the promo began since July last year. I've always waited for updates on this upcoming movie, just as much as my anticipation to the LP's new album.
Based on Stan Lee's everlasting superhero saga, this final sequel tells us a dark story of Peter Benjamin Parker, where he got the impenetrable venomous power from outer space. Peter, who has once been bitten by a spider to become an NYC superhero, now gets a new power. However, can he overcome the terror unleashed by this new and unknown power? It may be as easy as it thought. The story picks up where it has left - Spidey got the girl, Osborn gets revenge and new enemies coming in to hit the big screen.
The story always amazes me with interesting plot and colourful background of New York City. The costume itself is very much detailed, making it one of the most expensive superhero costumes in history. Hopefully this time I can see more actions and suspense like the first 2 movies.
For those who have read the comics, they should know spidey better. Hopefully the story will not get sidetracked from its original plot as most superhero movies do. Director Sam Raimi had so far managed to keep things on track, as to make sure the story attracted both movie-goers and comic addicts. The only thing controversial may have been the spider-web issue (whether it is naturally acquired or made), but finally resolved by clarifying that so far there is world is not ready to create such powerful and effective spider web. Maybe there are some other issues but so far they do not really affect the whole story.
Spiderman has always amazes me -whether in film, comics and even animation. From Amazing Spiderman to Ultimate Spiderman, the story gets even more interesting even though the plot stays the same.
Spider-man 3 will be out May 1 worldwide May 4 in the US.
